ABOUT ME
Hello! Thanks for visiting my portfolio. I'm Rhys, a Welsh writer and publicist.
Occasionally, I dabble in a bit of freelance journalism, mainly covering Wales-based arts and culture. In this capacity, I have also been fortunate enough to host events and Q&A's with creatives from film, television and theatre, notably for BAFTA Cymru as part of the Guru Live Series.
I trained at Cardiff University's School of Journalism, Media and Culture and later studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, where I gained a master's degree in Text and Performance (and the arrogance to think I could write theatre reviews!)
As a creative writer, I have written for stage and radio. I was shortlisted for the BBC Wales Writer in Residence Award in 2019 and was subsequently invited to join the prestigious BBC Writers' Welsh Voices.
My stage and radio writing credits include: an adaptation of The Count of Monte Cristo (Edinburgh Fringe Festival), Not John (RADA Festival), Forgetting Heledd (Camden Fringe) and 23.27 (BBC Radio Wales and BBC Sounds).
